Light doesn't just illuminate space; it embraces the soul with warmth and relaxation. Inspired by the allure of a campfire, its design uses simple geometry to evoke interconnectedness, forming a unique and gentle aesthetic in the glow. The lamp serves not only as a source of illumination but also as a provider of emotional and spiritual comfort and relaxation. EMBER blurs the lines between emotion and light source, offering both emotional and functional value.
Experiencing the cold winters of Ireland, I deeply appreciated the warmth that a lit fire brings, filling the space with coziness. For someone from tropical Taiwan, this was an unfamiliar yet delightful experience. People gathered around the fire, sipping drinks and chatting softly, and I realized that fire is not merely a source of illumination—it possesses a relaxing magic. Reflecting on early human use of fire, it provided not just light, but also a sense of security and relaxation, fostering gatherings and mutual comfort. This experience inspired my design, emphasizing the transmission of emotions rather than just illumination. I hope this design allows people to feel warmth and companionship in the glow of the fire.
